Create a series and add episodes

This guide is for creators who want to group films into a series with numbered episodes. It covers creating the series, adding and ordering episodes, and publishing everything with one switch. You end with a series that has its own public landing page and episodes that play in order.

Before you start

  • You need a creator account. Publishing a series requires verification, the same as publishing a film.
  • Have at least one uploaded film ready. Any of your standalone films can become an episode, and you can also upload new episodes straight into the series.
  • Optional: key art for the series hero image (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB).

Step 1 — Open Create series

In Content Library, click the arrow next to Upload video and choose Create series.

The Upload video split button opened, with Create series highlighted.

Step 2 — Name the series

In the Create series dialog:

  1. Enter a Series title.
  2. Pick a Category, for example Series.
  3. Pick a Primary genre (optional). Episodes without their own genre inherit it, and a published series needs one, so set it now if you can.
  4. Add a Description (optional).
  5. Click Create series.

A series starts as a draft, so nothing is public yet.

Step 3 — Tour the Series Management page

The series opens in Series Management. From top to bottom:

  • The header shows the series title with a Series badge and its status, plus Preview series (active once published) and View series analytics.
  • Series published is the one switch that flips the whole series and all its episodes on public surfaces.
  • Series details: Series title, Description, Primary genre, the Sponsored series disclosure and a Trailer picker (any of your published items; it drives the trailer button on the series page). Click Save series after editing.
  • Hero image: click Upload image to add key art.
  • Episodes: the ordered list, covered in the next steps.
  • Delete this series at the bottom.

The series also appears as a row in your Content Library with a Series badge, an episode count and a Manage button that brings you back here.

Step 4 — Add a film from the Library

You can turn any standalone film into an episode without leaving the Library. Open the film's Item actions menu (the three dots) and choose Add to series. Pick the series in the Series dropdown and click Add to series. The film becomes the next episode and keeps all its engagement history: views, reactions, comments, tips and watch progress. Its Library row now reads In a series.

If the film already belongs to another series, a Move to this series? prompt explains that it leaves the old series first.

Step 5 — Add more episodes and reorder them

Back in Series Management, the Episodes section offers two ways to grow the series:

  • Add episodes opens a picker of your standalone items. Select several and confirm.
  • Upload new episode opens the upload page in series mode, and each finished upload attaches as the next episode.

Rows are numbered E1, E2 and so on. Drag a row by its handle to change the order; every drop saves immediately and a toast reads Episode order saved. The menu on each row offers Edit details, Convert to standalone and Remove from series. The last two keep the episode's history and save its effective genre onto it, so it never ends up without one.

Step 6 — Publish the series

Flip Series published on. The series and every ready episode go public in one action, and a toast confirms it. Episodes that are still processing or missing required details stay in draft; the toast counts them, and they join the series on public surfaces once you finish them and publish them from the Library.

Flipping the switch off asks Unpublish this series? and hides the series and all its episodes in one action.

The Series published switch turned on, with the header status reading Published.

Good to know

  • One switch controls the series. Publishing a series publishes its ready episodes; unpublishing hides them all. Individual episodes can still be published or unpublished from the Library.
  • A published series needs a primary genre. Episodes without their own genre inherit the series genre.
  • Upload new episode attaches each finished upload to the series automatically. Processing still runs in the background, and an episode only goes public once it is complete and has its required details.
  • Extras (making-of or behind-the-scenes videos) cannot be episodes. Attach them to a film from its Linked Extras section instead.
  • Delete series never deletes films. The episodes revert to standalone items in your Library.
  • Series Management is read-only on small screens. Manage a series from a tablet or desktop.
  • Viewers can follow a series from its landing page and add the whole series to their watchlist, so a growing series is a reason to come back.
